Welcome to Thorsday!

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Thirsty Thorsday, everyone! Well, tonight's matchup should be interesting to Vikings fans, as two of our division rivals square off against each other on Thursday Night Football. The Bears will go to Lambeau and take on the Packers. I don't know about you, but I'll be the world's biggest Bears fan tonight.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Ted posted Roughing the Podcast, ep. 11: We Took A Bye, Too.

Chris posted the Minnesota Vikings Power Rankings Roundup: Week 7.

Chris also answered/asked Five Good Questions With Bleeding Green Nation.

Vikings news from other sources:

At WCCO, they give 4 reasons why Sam Bradford will become the Vikings' franchise quarterback.

Mike Zimmer explains the decision to keep George Edwards after his arrest, per the Strib.

From Vikings.com:

Carson Wentz talks about his time with Sam Bradford & about facing the Vikings defense.

Pat Surmur talks about Kyle Rudolph and Sam Bradford.

Coach Zimmer addressed the media yesterday.

Around the NFL:

Yahoo Sports looks at the 7 worst free agency contracts of 2016.

In a wonderful choice of words, Brandon Marshall says Geno Smith has 'really punched adversity in the face', per NFL.com.

From NFL.com, Reshad Jones is out for the rest of 2016. That hurts an already hurting Dolphins team.

Lacy is out, and Adams is questionable for tonight's game against the Bears.

We come to today's media selection. Thansk to Warrior80 for the heads-up on this. There's a lot of these out there, but this one if pretty hilarious.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the beer light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
