Horns, Swords and a Longship: October 21, 2016

It's Friday again, and thank goodness for that!

That game last night was painful to my soul as a fan of the game of football.

Longship Log:

Apparently some colleges think Norv might be a good idea to be the head coach of their team. Not sure which schools they are, but I'm pretty sure they're thinking of a Norv that's about thirty years younger than he is right now.

The Five Questions with the Enemy post is up over at Bleeding Green Nation.

Eric posted his weekly descent into madness.

Around the Horns:

Linval Joseph was featured in a MMQB article yesterday. PFF ranked the NFL's secondaries. 96 Questions has their new episode out.

Vikings Territory has their Question of the Week.

Mike Zimmer should definitely not be the Vikings' coach.

Here's how to attack the Eagles' defense. The Vikings' defense is airtight. Coach Edwards addressed the media for the first time since his DWI arrest came to light.

Arif pens a shortie on Tom Johnson and why he's so good. The status quo remains for now at offensive tackle for the Vikings.

Swords from the Opposing Hordes:

Brian Hoyer sustained a broken arm in last night's game, meaning that the Bears will have to hope that Jay Cutler returns in time for Week 8 or the Vikings will be facing Matt Barkley in Soldier Field.

Robbie Gould is flying to London to replace the piece of human garbage that is Josh Brown.

Apparently Eddie Lacy was having weight issues again before sustaining his season-ending ankle injury.

The Steelers think Donkey Kong Suh is back to his old tricks.

Minnesota Sports Update:

The Lynx had a soul-crushing defeat to the LA Sparks last night, losing on a last-second field goal. The Lynx will return next season looking for their fourth title in seven years.

The Wild got two goals from Eric Staal and beat the Maple Leafs 3-2. The Wild will now be heading to New Jersey for a game against the Devils on Saturday night. Puck drops at 6:00 CT.

I thought I'd go with something a little simple for this week's video, so here's the Eagles/Vikings preview.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the disco light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your local dolphin brigade, & try the horse-trampled napkins.
