Merry Wednesday, everyone! We're slowly getting closer to Vikings football. Man, I love Mondays as it is, I can't imagine how giddy I'll be next Monday.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Ted posted Your Moment of Zim Tzu: Phunkadelphia.
Ted and Di posted Roughing the Podcast 12: Philly Phunk.
Vikings news from other sources:
At the Strib, Mark Craig looks at overreactions in the NFL. This is a pretty good read.
Here is the Vikings at Bears preview.
Eric Smith is hosting a Vikings Live Chat today at 1:30 pm.
Eric Smith also says the Vikings shouldn't hit the panic button after their first loss. Sadly, many need to hear this.
Former NFL scouts look at the NFL's top 5 defensive fronts.
Here are some interviews from yesterday: Harrison Smith says they move on each week, win or lose. Jake Long says he didn't play near well enough. Brandon Fusco says they need better communication up front.
Around the rest of the NFL:
From NFL.com, the Patriots made a trade with the Lions for Kyle Van Noy. They also traded A.J. Derby to the Broncos for a 5th round pick.
In true Cutler fashion, when asked if Fox supports him, replied 'he doesn't have a choice'. Man, I'm actually starting to like this guy.
Other sports news of note:
The Wild shut out the Bruins last night, 5-0. This was a tough one for me, I like both teams. Dubnyk made 27 saves as the Wild improved to 4-2-1.
In game one of the World Series, Kluber was lights out as the Indians blanked the Cubs 6-0 to take a 1 game to zero lead in the World Series. Game two is in Cleveland again tonight, with the first pitch at 6:08.
We come to today's media selection. You may have seen this, it's a recap of the Vikings' 1969 season.
