It's Thirsty Thorsday!

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Merry Thorsday, everyone! Well, we start week 7 tonight, as there's another exciting Thursday Night Football matchup for you to watch. The always lethal Tennessee Titans take on the perennial powerhouse Jacksonville Jaguars. This could very well be a preview of Super Bowl 51.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris has your Minnesota Vikings Power Rankings Roundup: Week 8.

Arif posted Podcast Episode 156: The Philadelphia Incident.

Eric takes a brief look at Vikings/Bears history.

Chris shared the rumor that the Vikings may be trading for O-line help.

Vikings news from other sources:

From the Strib, Kyle Rudolph has stepped into a new volunteer role with the Vikings. Kyle, along with some teammates, visited Children's Hospital for their annual Halloween Huddle. Hutchinson started the tradition, then Sully took it over, now it's Kyle's turn. It's great to see our players doing things like this.

From ESPN, Kevin Seifert says the sky is not falling, and Matthew Coller wonders if Norv Turner or the scheme is to blame for the loss.

From Vikings.com:

ESPN insiders' Matt Bowen says the Vikings defense is the NFL's strongest unit.

Eric Smith has 10 Vikings-Bears numbers of note.

Around the NFL:

NFL.com is saying there is no merit to the trade rumors for Alshon Jeffery.

Jared Goff is taking first team reps in Los Angeles, per NFL.com. He's just not sure which way to look to see the sunrise.

Other sports news of note:

The Cubs stormed back last night and tied the series at one game apiece. Schwarber and Zobrist supplied much of the power, and Arrieta had a nice outing as the Cubs beat the Indians, 5-1.

We come to today's media selection. Here's some Mylo Hatzenbuhler for your Thursday.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the beer light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the Drano.
