Happy post-win Tuesday, DN faithful! Hey, what a game, huh? It was well worth staying up past bedtime to watch that one. Man, I love this defense. Let's take a look at how we did......
What we did right:
Well, we did almost everything right. Coming into this game, we knew we were going up against a very formidable passing attack, and that we'd have to try to contain it. Well, we contained it alright, we kept their wide receivers from gaining any meaningful yards, and Beckham in particular was basically neutralized. When they expected us to rush the QB, we stayed back in containment. Our cornerbacks deserve a ton of respect for the job they did last night, Xavier Rhodes in particular was at the top of his game. Anyone who doesn't think he's a shutdown corner is out of their mind, in my opinion. The linebackers were all over the place, and I saw them helping to double-team receivers at time, and they kept the Giants' offense confused all night. Man, it was a treat to watch. I love this team Coach Zimmer and Rick have built, it's going to be a hell of a ride this year.
On the offensive side of the ball, I liked our game plan. They had a nice balance of run vs. pass, and we established a nice running game for the first time this year. The offensive line did a hell of a job both run blocking and pass blocking, and I think Sirles may have worked his way into our lineup, as he did a nice job filling in when Andre Smith went out with an injury. McKinnon did a great job both running and catching passes out of the backfield. I've been critical of Charles Johnson in prior games, but he showed up and made some nice plays last night. Bradford did a hell of a job spreading the ball around, and not turning the ball over. Great game all around. Hey, how about a little love for Pattterson? The kid played his butt off last night and made some key plays to keep drives going, and disrupted the punt returner which caused the fumble in the first quarter.
What we could do better:
I'm not going to spend a ton of time ragging on Blair Walsh, but dude, you gotta make kicks. That miss could have been huge, luckily the team bailed him out. I honestly can't think of anyone else to put here. If I missed someone, let me know in the comments.

We come to today's media selection. Fire up the band, ladies and gentlemen!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment

With that, the beer light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
