Happy thirsty Thorsday, y'all! Well, we're almost to the weekend, and we're inching closer and closer to our matchup with the Texans.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Ted posted Roughing the Podcast 10: Giant Killers.
CCNorseman gives us ten things to believe in after the first quarter.
Arif posted Norse Code Podcast Episode 152: Zim Reapers.
Eric takes a brief look at Vikings/Texans history.
Chris told us that the Vikings are not brining in competition for Blair Walsh (yet).
Peter King declared Sam Bradford the MVP of the first quarter of the season.
Vikings news from other sources:
From the Strib, Kyle Rudolph had clavicle/rib injury and missed practice. I haven't seen anything indicating how long he'll be out, but I'll post an update as soon as I do. I hope he's not out long, he's been Bradford's favorite target.
From Vikings.com:
Sam Bradford has been good at spreading the wealth in the Vikings offense, per Eric Smith.
Lindsey Young looks at the offensive line and their continued improvement.
Here's the game preview for the game against the Texans.
Around the rest of the league:
Todd Marinovich is in trouble with the law again. The former 1st round pick was arrested for trespassing, public nudity, and drug possession on Tuesday, per Yahoo Sports. Addiction is an ugly thing.
Speaking of addiction, NFL.com reported that Johnny Manziel is eligible to play again, as his four-game suspension was lifted by the league. It'll be interesting to see if anyone takes a chance on him.
Tyler Eifert has a back injury in addition to the ankle injury he already had, per NFL.com.
We come to today's media selection. Thanks to fatface freezeface for the suggestion, this is Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
With that, the beer light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
