Welcome to Monday. Another post-loss Monday to start out a long week of waiting for our next matchup so we can somehow get back on track.
I'll be honest, that was a bad game. Our offense, outside of the 3 drives to end the first half, was bad. The running game wasn't even enough to be called a running game, more like a drive staller. The O line took another significant hit, as Jake Long is out for the year, and I'm pretty sure our pets' heads are falling off. The defense looked bad in the first quarter, really bad. Then they came around and played a decent game, even with a couple of injuries.
All that being said, we're still in a position to win the division. If this team can get hot (tall order with our O line, but still possible), they can still go as far as they want. I'm sick of having my Mondays ruined, though. It's one of the best days of the week, and these losses are ruining them.
Dammit.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris shared the report that Jake Long suffered an Achilles tear, and his season (and likely, his career) is over.
Chris posted the Stock Market Report: Redskins.
Vikings news from elsewhere:
From ESPN, the Vikings know they have to stop the slide.
From Vikings.com:
Coach Zimmer addressed the media after the game. He's concerned, but he still believes. That's kinda where I am right now.
Sam Bradford also addressed the media.
Stefon Diggs was one of the bright spots yesterday.
Everson Griffen says "we need to get back to being us". I couldn't agree more.
Around the NFL:
Here are all the scores from week 10, from NFL.com.
We come to today's media selection. Good day for Mr. Chopin.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
With that, the beer light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the headcheese.
