What’s up Daily Norseman? Long time, no see. Apologies for missing out on the last two Friday Open Threads, school’s been all kinds of hell for me recently. Anyway, nice to be back! Here’s your Friday news dump, enjoy!
Longship Log:
Ted is back in action with his always-popular Words from the Warrior Poet.
Eric’s usual Thursday rantings ended with him moving to 1-0 on the week.
T.J. Clemmings is once again about to commit attempted murder against Sam Bradford.
Ted found some people to let him on the radio.
Around the Horns:
The Vikings got some good news from the practice field yesterday; hopefully it continues for today. The Vikings offense has improved under Pat Shurmer, now the defense just needs to catch back up to it. The Vikings attempted to claim running back Christine Michael off of waivers, but as the Packers had the worse record, they were awarded the claim.
Pro Football Reference has some serious issues with spelling.
Carl Knowles has last Sunday’s RedZone Report. Blair Walsh had his good times here, even though they’ve largely been forgotten. Brent and the crew tries to predict what the Vikings’ final record will be.
Arif was drawn into a “The Draw Play” comic and it’s hilarious!
TJ Clemmings actually did okay last Sunday. **ducks**
Swords from the Opposing Hordes:
Luke Kuechly likely suffered a concussion in yesterday’s game.
Apparently DeAndre Levy’s proudest moment in college was breaking Joe Paterno’s leg.
So apparently, as should be expected, Mexico’s not exactly a safe place to order room service if you’re a football player. And no, that’s not a sex joke.
A Browns VP admitted what everybody already knew about the Browns.
Minnesota Wild/Wolves update:
Hey, they finally got a little puck luck. A 1-0 last-minute win over the Bruins has the Wild at fourth place in the Central with at least one game in hand over all three teams in front of them. The Wild “welcome” the Aves to town tomorrow for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
The Wolves faced off against the hapless 76ers last night. KAT destroyed The Process twice, Wiggy dropped 35 and despite once again “losing” the third quarter the Wolves managed to stay strong and hang a 24-point loss on the 76ers. The Wolves travel to Memphis for their next matchup, a 7:00 p.m. game tomorrow night.
We need some good luck back in Minnesota, let’s Remember what good teams can do!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
With that, the disco light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your local dolphin brigade, & try the chicken-slathered back bacon.
