Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings: Final Injury Reports

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

It's getting to be close to football time again, ladies and gentlemen, as the Minnesota Vikings will host the Arizona Cardinals at U.S. Bank Stadium in about 48 hours or so. Both teams have released their final injury reports, and they both contain a whole lot of names, so let's get to both of them.

We start, as always, with the visiting team.

Arizona Cardinals

Player Position Injury Wednesday Thursday Friday Sunday Status
Corey Peters DT Foot DNP DNP DNP Doubtful
Deone Bucannon LB Ankle DNP DNP LP Questionable
Tyrann Mathieu S Shoulder LP LP LP Questionable
Tharold Simon CB Ankle LP DNP LP Questionable
Joplo Bartu LB Hamstring LP FP FP --
Justin Bethel CB Foot/Wrist FP FP FP --
Larry Fitzgerald WR Knee/Ankle DNP FP FP --
Chandler Jones LB Not Injury Related DNP FP FP --
Alex Okafor LB Knee/Calf DNP LP FP --
Carson Palmer QB Not Injury Related DNP FP FP --
Brandon Williams CB Finger FP FP FP --

The Cardinals have some pretty significant names on their injury report, notably Bucannon and Mathieu. Both of those guys are pretty significant parts of their defense, and it appears that they'll be game-time decisions. In a few of these cases, it looks like players just got a veteran's off-day or something along those lines.

And now, on to the home side.

Minnesota Vikings

Player Position Injury Wednesday Thursday Friday Sunday Status
Sharrif Floyd DT Knee DNP DNP DNP Out
Eric Kendricks LB Hip DNP LP FP Questionable
Captain Munnerlyn CB Ankle DNP LP FP Questionable
Marcus Sherels CB Ankle FP FP FP Questionable
Mackensie Alexander CB Shoulder FP FP FP --
Matt Asiata RB Shoulder FP FP FP --
Audie Cole LB Hand FP FP FP --
Linval Joseph DT Shoulder FP FP FP --
Zac Kerin G Hand LP LP LP --
Terence Newman CB Illness DNP LP FP --
Xavier Rhodes CB Concussion LP LP FP --
Andrew Sendejo S Ankle FP FP FP --
Laquon Treadwell WR Hamstring FP FP FP --

As somebody put it on Twitter, at this point I'm pretty sure that Teddy Bridgewater will be back from his knee injury before Sharrif Floyd is back from his. Floyd has apparently left the Vikings' facility for rehab again, so that tells you how well that's going. Kendricks and Rhodes have both said that they expect to play on Sunday, so the Vikings' defense might be back to relatively near full strength again. Hopefully this injury report will start getting shorter, considering that the Vikings are now looking at a stretch that will see them play three games in twelve days.

Those are the injury reports for both sides going into this Sunday's contest at U.S. Bank Stadium, folks. We'll have more on this game leading up to kickoff.
