We’re just about twenty-four hours away from kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium between the Arizona Cardinals and your Minnesota Vikings. Both of these teams are out of the playoff picture in the NFC at the present time, and a loss for either of these teams will make that hill that much harder to climb. It has the makings of a compelling game, even though both of these teams have been playing some ugly football as of late.
So, how can you keep track of all of the action on Sunday afternoon? We have all of that information right here for you.
Television Info
We are still at the normal noon Central time Sunday kickoff for this one, folks. Coverage will be handled by the folks from FOX, which is KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities area. Handling play-by-play duties for this one will be. . .oh, crap, are you kidding me?
. . .
They’re not kidding me.
It’s going to be Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, mostly because I suppose Vikings fans haven’t been punished enough over the last six weeks or so. If you’re outside of the Twin Cities area, here’s a look at the broadcast map from 506 Sports so you can determine whether or not the game is being shown in your area. The Vikings/Cardinals game is represented by the blue area.
If you’re in the Anchorage or Fairbanks, Alaska markets, you’ll be getting this game, too.
Anyone looking for this one on the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package is going to be tuning the box to Channel 711.
Once the folks from Sports On Canadian TV update their listings, we will tell you where to find this game north of the border.
For our friends over in the United Kingdom, it does not appear that this one is going to be shown live on any of the regular outlets. Your best alternative is going to be NFL Game Pass. (Thanks to NFL UK for that information.)
For our men and women in uniform serving overseas, this game. . .well, for some reason, this game doesn’t even appear on the listings for the American Forces Network this week. I’m not exactly sure why that is, but it’s not on there. I’m guessing they’re going to air it at some point this week, but I’m not sure when that will be. We will make every effort to find the information.
Radio Info
For everyone that’s going to be listening on the radio, you can find an affiliate in your area that’s a part of the Vikings Radio Network. If you do not have an affiliate near you, another alternative would be to check out the TuneIn online radio service.
If you’re going the satellite radio route, you can find the feed from the Vikings Radio Network on Sirius Channel 93 or XM Channel 226. The feed from the Cardinals’ radio crew can be found on Sirius Channel 137. If you’re using the SiriusXM Online App, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 818.
Referee Info
Football Zebras informs us that the head referee for this week’s game will be Clete Blakeman. Blakeman was the head referee for Super Bowl 50, and his most recent involvement with the Minnesota Vikings was a positive for the purple, as he officiated last season’s 20-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome.
Weather Info
Game’s going to be inside, folks. However, if you’re traveling to the stadium, make sure you’re dressed appropriately, as winter has officially hit the Twin Cities. The forecast from Weather Underground shows that highs on Sunday will top out at around 35 degrees, with the trip to the game having lower temps than that. No precipitation is forecast, though, which is nice.
Streaming Info
It doesn’t appear that there is any sort of legal online stream for this one if you’re back stateside. For everyone overseas, it will be watchable on NFL Game Pass.
As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own. And feel free to not blame us for any ill effects your computer or device might suffer as a result.
