With their offense still attempting to reinvent itself as it transitions from the Norv Turner era to the Pat Shurmur era, the Minnesota Vikings may have caught a bit of a break in their matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Cardinals S Tyrann Matthieu, questionable for Sunday with a shoulder injury, is unlikely to play vs Vikings, per source.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the artist formerly known as “Honey Badger” is likely not going to be suiting up for Arizona when they take on the Vikings.
Mathieu has been a real impact player for the Cardinals in his three seasons. While splitting time between safety and cornerback, he has collected eight interceptions and was named an All-Pro at the safety spot last season. In our Five Good Questions post from earlier this week, Revenge of the Birds lead writer Seth Cox cited Mathieu’s absence as having a bit of a ripple effect on the rest of the Arizona defense.
. . .Mathieu has yet to be himself this season, and it shows on defense, where the Cardinals miss his infectious swagger that lifts the entire defenses morale up.
Unfortunately for the Cardinals. . .and, perhaps, fortunately for the Vikings. . .if the reports are accurate, Mathieu’s swagger will be missing at U.S. Bank Stadium this afternoon as well. Can Minnesota’s offense take advantage?
