Happy Wednesday everyone! For many of us, today is the Friday before a much-needed extended weekend. We have Vikings football in one day, and LOTS of food to eat. Enjoy. Also, it seems like a good time to remember, and be thankful for, all that we have. Most of us have a pretty good life, and we shouldn't take it for granted.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Kyle Rudolph was featured on Tuesday's "Tackle My Ride".
Ted and Di posted Roughing the Podcast 16: Happy Thanksgiving!
Vikings news from other sources:
The Detroit Free Press tells us why the Vikings' offense is on the rebound.
From the Strib, Joe Berger and his wife have grown their family through adoption while he's made his career here.
From Vikings.com:
Pat Shurmur joined PA and discussed the offense.
Cordarrelle Patterson also talked with PA. I'm really impressed with how he's refocused this year.
The Vikings offensive line aims to build continuity.
Here is the Vikings at Lions preview.
Around the NFL:
From NBC Sports, Andrew Luck is still in concussion protocol and will likely be out tomorrow.
From SI.com, in the 1974 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected........the I-5 killer. Not sure why this story was posted today, but it's pretty interesting.
SI.com also poses the question, "Is it time for the Packers to fire Mike McCarthy?".
NFL.com looks at the Packers' horrendous secondary.
We come to today's media selection. This song is from the musical "Oliver!", which is based on the Dickens novel. Seems appropriate for today.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Be nice to the bartender, don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the lengua.
