Joe Berger Out With Concussion

The Vikings’ best lineman will be sitting out the rest of Thursday’s game.

As if they haven’t taken enough hits already this season, the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive line has taken another one during their game with the Detroit Lions.

Joe Berger, the center who has been the Vikings’ best and most consistent lineman this season, suffered a concussion in the second quarter of the Thanksgiving Day game and has been ruled out for the rest of the afternoon.

Berger was the only lineman for the Vikings to have played every snap this season prior to his injury. The Vikings have had to plug Nick Easton at center in his place, and Easton is going to remain there for the rest of the afternoon.

Obviously, we don’t know how this will affect Berger’s status for next Thursday’s matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys, but he’s out for the rest of this one.

We’re waiting for the second half kickoff, and the Vikings currently trail the Lions by a score of 10-7.
