After their mini-bye week after playing on consecutive Thursdays, the Minnesota Vikings will take to the field again tomorrow, as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first of four consecutive must-win games to finish the 2016 regular season. If you need to know how to follow along with all of the action from Everbank Field, we have all the information you need right here.
Television Info
For the rest of the season. . .barring something strange. . .the purple and gold will be kicking things off at that finest of NFL start times, noon Central time on Sunday. This game is going to be televised on FOX, which is KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities area. If you’re not in the Twin Cities and are wondering if you’re in the broadcast area for the game, here’s the map from the folks at 506 Sports. The Minnesota/Jacksonville game is the primary game in the blue area.
Man. . .outside of the Upper Midwest, that’s what you might call a “limited” area of interest. Seriously, that looks like about a 30-mile radius around the Jacksonville area. Fans in Alaska are going to be getting this game, too. Why? I don’t know.
If you’re looking for this game on the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package, you’ll have to tune to Channel 711.
Sports on Canadian TV hasn’t let us know where this game can be seen north of the border yet. When they do, we’ll have it here.
For our friends in the UK, this one isn’t going to be carried on television anywhere. You’re going to be stuck with NFL Game Pass for this one. (Thanks to NFL UK.)
If you’re one of our men and women serving America overseas. . .well, for the second time in the last four games, the folks at the American Forces Network have neglected to schedule the Vikings’ game for this week. No, not even for a replay. They did this with the game against the Arizona Cardinals a couple of weeks back, too.
Radio Info
For everyone that’s going to be listening on the radio, you can find an affiliate in your area that’s a part of the Vikings Radio Network. If you do not have an affiliate near you, another alternative would be to check out the TuneIn online radio service.
If you’re going the satellite radio route, you can find the Vikings feed on Sirius Channel 118. There is no XM feed for the Vikings’ announcers this week. The Jaguars feed can be located on XM Channel 227 or Sirius Channel 108. For those using the SiriusXM Online App, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 817.
Referee Info
Football Zebras informs us that the officiating crew for this week’s game will be led by John “Brazen” Hussey. (I don’t know if that’s his nickname or not. It probably isn’t.) This will be the second Vikings’ game for his crew this season, as his crew was involved in the Vikings’ first loss of the season in Philadelphia.
Weather Info
According to Weather Underground, it should be an amazing day for football in Jacksonville on Sunday. Temperatures at kickoff should be in the low 70s, and winds will be coming in from the southeast at 5-10 miles an hour with no chance of precipitation.
Streaming Info
It doesn’t appear there’s anywhere available for legal streaming of this week’s game. For folks overseas, you can always rely on NFL Game Pass.
As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own. And feel free to not blame us for any ill effects your computer or device might suffer as a result.
That’s all of the information you should need to be able to follow along with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars at Everbank Field on Sunday. We’ll have the Open Thread up and running at around 11:00 AM Central time, and we hope that we get plenty of you here for it.
