Here are the ground rules for the Game Threads:

-Thou shalt not link illegal feeds of today's game, or I shall kick thy arse to the curb until the game is over. Do not promote then, do not mention them, do not even hint at them. Thou hast been warned.

-Thou shalt make an attempt to keep the swearing to a minimum. Understandable that it will slip occasionally, but do try to limit it. If you really feel the need to curse, use the spoiler tags to keep it covered up. We'll get the sentiment.

-Thou shalt not feed the trolls. Rather, thou shall simply point them out, and they shall be banished to the fires of Mordor. Or Wisconsin. Whichever we feel is more harsh at the time.

-Thou shalt not engage in racist, sexist, or other such insulting rhetoric. Somebody disagreeing with you does not make them racist or sexist. It means they disagree with you. Talk it out like adults.

-Thou shalt not bait the fans of other teams into trolling.

-Basically, thou shalt not be a jackwagon in the game thread.

We've hit crunch time for the 2016 regular season, folks. If the Minnesota Vikings want to get themselves into the playoff picture. . .again. . .they're going to have to run off four consecutive wins, starting today at Everbank Field against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

So, what do the Vikings have to do today in order to get a potential run started?

1) Take what Blake gives you - Blake Bortles is a bad quarterback. He's a bad quarterback that makes a lot of bad throws. He's going to give the Vikings' back seven opportunities to make plays today. Even without Harrison Smith roaming the secondary, the Vikings are going to have to take advantage and put their offense in a position to put points on the board. The Vikings are currently +13 in the turnover department this season, while the Jaguars are at -18. That's an advantage that needs to be exploited today.

2) Take what the defense gives you - Let's not overlook the Jacksonville defense. They have a very good secondary, and are fourth in the NFL in terms of yards allowed per game this season. They've been put on a lot of short fields by their offense, which is why their points allowed total doesn't quite match with that. The Vikings are going to have to do a much better job of protecting Sam Bradford and give him an opportunity to find openings in the coverage and keep the Minnesota offense on the field.

3) Don't get cocky, kid - On paper, this game should be a relatively easy victory for Minnesota. But, as the Vikings have proven this year, games aren't played on paper. They need to keep their focus and not get caught overlooking this Jacksonville team. As we've said numerous times this week, the road to the playoffs for this team starts with them running the table in their final four games, and if they lose this one, the competitive portion of their 2016 season is basically over with. Hopefully that won't happen.

We're less than an hour away from kickoff at Everbank Field, ladies and gentlemen. Keep your eyes open for a new Open Thread at the start of each quarter, and let's hope that our favorite team can get themselves a victory this afternoon.
