Ahhhhh, it’s Friday eve.

NFL: Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Merry Thursday, everyone!

Another bitterly cold day here in Bismarck, bundle up y’all.

Hey, we might actually have another decent Thursday Night Football game. That makes two TNF games in a row that are worth watching!!! Tonight, the Raiders travel to Kansas City to take on their division rival, the Chiefs. This should be a really good game.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris shared the bad news that Harrison Smith is likely done for the season.

Hey, some DNers are going to the game in Jacksonville. Join in the fun!

Adrian Peterson says he’ll return “if”, per Chris.

Ted posted Roughing the Podcast, Ep. 18: Cowboy Up.

CCNorseman projects week 14, the Vikings offense during the Jaguars defense.

Vikings news from other sources:

Michael Rand at the Strib ranked the 10 craziest things about the 2016 Vikings (so far).

Sam Bradford thanks Brian Robison for his support, per the Pioneer Press.

From Vikings.com:

Coach Zimmer “addressed” the media yesterday.

In Eric Smith’s notebook, Kearse and Harris are ready if Harrison Smith misses time.

Captain Munnerlyn says ‘we have to come out swinging’.

Adrian Peterson says he envisions playing again this season.

Ian Rappaport talks about Harrison Smith’s injury.

Around the rest of the NFL:

From NFL.com, Odell Beckham Jr. says Stevie Wonder could have seen the missed calls from their latest game.

In ESPN’s NFL MVP poll, Brady and Stafford are parked behind Carr. I guess that also means that they’re chasing Carr, I made my dog quit doing that.

Other sports news of note:

The Minnesota Wild, continuing on what is sure to be another playoff season (unlike the Avalanche’s season), took on the Toronto Maple Leafs (why isn’t it Maple Leaves? it’s plural) last night, and of course they won. Final score was 3-2, good guys.

With that, we come to today’s media selection.

Thanks to MT Viking for the recommendation. Those Canadians are good at a couple things, beer is one of them.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the pickled pigs feet.
