Friday truly is a great day of the week (one of the seven-best, in fact) and it's draft season, too!
Longship Log:
We have weigh-in results from Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Running Backs, and Offensive Linemen.
Arif has a primer about what we as fans should be expecting the Vikings to look for in combine stats from each offensive position.
We have a transcript of Mike Zimmer's press conference, as well as the latest edition of Zim Tzu.
Mike Mayock has a few potential fits for the Vikings when they make their first pick just about two months from now. Geez the draft's a long way away, good thing free agency starts soon!
Around the Horns:
Vikings Territory: Mike Wallace, from vertical threat to team leader. Purple FTW has a new episode. The Vikings Offseason Plan: Part 2 has been released. Question of the Week: Who is your draft sleeper?
1500ESPN: Two notebooks, one on the Vikings attempting to fix their offensive line, the other a discussion of the future of the Vikings' offense when it's in Teddy's hands. Andrew Krammer has Day 1 Combine updates. Mike Zimmer believes that AP can handle the same role he played in the Vikings' offense next season. Reports believe that Chad Greenway will be coming back for one last hurrah with the team he's called his own for a decade. Both Sports over Beers and the Purple Podcast have new episodes out.
Bleacher Report conglomeration: Darth Rick is pleased with the depth along the defensive line in this year's draft. The 2016 unused cap rollover amounts have been announced, the Vikings are carrying over just under $2.1 million. Taylor Heinicke is hoping to get some playing time next year. Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo said that Trae Waynes was the toughest defender he played against in college.
Vikings.com: Wobby's got 5 Takeaway's from Zim's press conference. Mike Zimmer's more mad than anything about last year. The Skefty man thinks the Vikings need more playmakers on offense.
Battle news from the front lines of the NFL:
Reports on Colin Kaepernick's status with the 49ers continue to shift, sometimes by the hour.
Marshawn Lynch is heading to Africa with a number of other current and former NFL players to teach some kids football.
Pending a physical, free agent running back Trent Richardson is expected to sign with the Baltimore Ravens.
Sounds like Doug Martin may be heading out of Tampa Bay. In other contract news, it sounds like the Broncos are making a push to sign uber-star Von Miller to a long-term megadeal, and Mario Williams is just waiting to be cut up in Buffalo. Also in Denver, tackle Ryan Clady has reportedly offered to restructure his deal so he can stay with the Broncos.
Peyton Manning has yet to decide on whether or not to retire.
Film Room Episode 13 focuses on why Jaylon Smith is one of the best-ever linebacker prospects and why Reggie Ragland shouldn't be a first round pick.
With the Oscars coming up, I think an Honest Trailer about this year's nominees is worth posting.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags

With that, the swords are sharp and the mead is flowing. Belly up & grab a horned helmet. Don't forget to tip Helga, & try the hardtack.
