Super Bowl 50: Game Time, Channel, Radio, Streaming and More

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

We're almost to the end of the 2015-16 NFL season, and will get the final game of the year on Sunday when Super Bowl 50 kicks off at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. You already know that it's going to be the Carolina Panthers taking on the Denver Broncos to take home the big, silver trophy. But here's everything you need to know about how you can keep tabs on all the action.

Television Coverage

This game will take place on CBS, with Jim Nantz and. . .sigh. . .Phil Simms on the call. The kickoff is tentatively scheduled for 5:30 PM Central time, and CBS says that their pre-game show is going to start at 1 PM, but the network will be airing Super Bowl-related programming starting at around 10:00 AM Central. If you'd like to hear the play-by-play in Spanish, ESPN Deportes will be doing a Spanish-language broadcast of the game.

If you're not inclined to watch CBS for your pre-game coverage, the NFL Network will kick off their coverage at 8:00 AM Central time. ESPN will also be running some pre-game stuff from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Central.

I'm not 100% sure which Canadian channel is showing this one, as it appears our friends at A Rouge Point haven't updated in a while. Damn shame. . .I hope they're back on it soon.

For our friends in the United Kingdom, this year's Super Bowl will be shown on BBC 2, and kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 PM local time.

The American Forces Network will be airing this one on AFN Sports, and things will kick off at 2330 Zulu time. That means the early hours of Monday morning for most other folks, as we're looking at a 0030L kickoff in Central Europe, 0400L in Afghanistan, and 0830L in Japan and Korea. Wild prediction. . .there are going to be a lot of people taking leave on Monday.

Radio Coverage

There are going to be a lot of radio affiliates out there broadcasting Super Bowl 50. Your best bet is to head over to the Westwood One website and see which stations in your area will be carrying the coverage. And hey, you'll get Kevin Harlan on play-by-play if you're listening to it there, which is never a bad thing.

If you have satellite radio and have a preference for one team or the other in this one, you can find the feed from the Broncos Radio Network on either XM Channel 225 or Sirius Channel 82. You can find the Panthers Radio Network announcers on either Sirius Channel 83 or XM Channel 226. You can also find the aforementioned Westwood One feed on XM Channel 229 or Sirius Channel 108.

Referee Information

The crew that gets the privilege of officiating this year's Super Bowl is led by Clete Blakeman. While it isn't the same crew that Blakeman led in the regular season, he was the head referee for one Minnesota Vikings' game this year, the purple's 20-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome.

Streaming Information

As far as watching the game online, you can find the game at the CBS Sports website. It will be available there, as well as many different mobile devices (a list of which you can find at the link). If you're watching online overseas somewhere, there's always the NFL GamePass package for you to get your coverage from.

As always, don't promote illegal streams here. I don't care if that's how you're watching the game or not, but don't promote it here.

Some other miscellaneous information about the game.

Vegas betting line

As things stand right now, the Panthers currently stand as a 5.5 to 6-point favorite over the Broncos. The line started out at Panthers -3.5, but blew up after about 48 hours and has held relatively steady ever since then. The over/under is between 44 and 45, depending on which sports book you're using.

National Anthem

The Star-Spangled Banner will be handled by Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. . .but you probably know her as Lady Gaga. It's probably going to be much better than you're expecting, as Lady Gaga can actually. . .you know. . .sing.

Halftime Show

The halftime entertainment this year will be handled by Coldplay and Beyonce. Frankly, I think you're better off watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet, or even the Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel. But that's just me. . .your mileage, as always, may vary.

That's what we're looking at for coverage of this year's Super Bowl, ladies and gentlemen. We'll have an Open Thread up and running for this one, and it will get underway about half an hour before kickoff.
