Happy Thirsty Thorsday, everyone! The first full day of the 2016 NFL league year is upon us. Please try to be friendly to the new folks who come around, we want to be welcoming to everyone.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

We missed out on George Iloka.

The Vikings were to sign LB Travis Lewis.

Eric told us why we should like Alex Boone, and he's right!

We also brought back guard/tackle Mike Harris.

We were also to sign LB Emmanuel Lamur.

Chris broke the bad news that we won't be bringing back TE Rhett Ellison (maybe).

The Vikings signed safety Michael Griffin. Griffin has been with the Titans since they drafted him in 2007, and can earn up to $3 million this year with incentives, with only $750 K guaranteed.

With that, we come to today's media selection. Here's one of the funniest scenes from Cheech and Chong's 'Next Movie'. It's NSFW, so beware, but it's hilarious stuff!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the beer can chicken.
