My apologies for a bit of a delay in this week's database. I generally bang this out on Saturday morning (which is waaaaaaaaaaaaay early Saturday morning Central time), buy my wife and I had plans for today, causing this to be delayed. So, without any further delay, let's get to this week's Database and take a look at what pundits around the internet think the Minnesota Vikings will be doing in the 2016 NFL Draft.

We are now up to 60 mock drafts in our database. This week, while some of the newly updated mocks reflect what happened in the early portions of NFL free agency, there are plenty that do not. I would expect that next week's database will feature a landscape that has had more time to process what teams have done in free agency so far.

With that, here are the 60 mocks in this week's Database.

As you can gather with just a quick glance at things, the charts are still being dominated by the wide receiver position, and in particular by TCU standout Josh Doctson. While he didn't make as big a jump as he did last week, he still saw an increase in his selections in this week's Database, moving up from 13 picks to 19 (31.7% of this week's selections). We do have a new name in second place, as Corey Coleman of Baylor went from three selections last week to five this time around (8.3%). Michael Thomas of Ohio State saw quite a drop this week, falling from seven selections to four (6.7%). Will Fuller of Notre Dame also saw a move up, as he went from one selection last week to three in this week's database (5%). Laquon Treadwell of Ole Miss and Tyler Boyd of Pittsburgh both held steady this week, receiving three selections (5%) and one selection (1.7%) respectively. Overall, the receiver position is responsible for 35 of the 60 picks in this week's Database (58.3%).

The offensive line once again appears in second place this week, picking up 17 of the 60 selections this week (28.3%). Cody Whitehair of Kansas State increased his lead, going from three selections last week to seven this week (11.7%). His closest competitors both had a slight drop, as Jack Conklin of Michigan State dropped from five selections to four (6.7%), while Taylor Decker of Ohio State dropped from five selections to three (5%). After a one-week hiatus, Indiana offensive tackle Jason Spriggs is back in the mix, picking up two selections this week (3.3%). One offensive lineman makes his first appearance this week, that being guard Vadal Alexander of LSU. He picked up one selection this week (1.7%).

Next up we have the defensive backs, who have moved into third place with three selections (5%). This position is being completely held down by Ohio State players. Safety Vonn Bell picked up an extra selection this week to give him a total of two (3.3%), while cornerback Eli Apple held steady with his one selection from last week (1.7%).

There are two positions that each have two selections in our database this week (3.3% each). The linebacker position is once again represented solely by Ohio State's Darron Lee, but his drop continues, as he garnered just two selections this week. We also have two picks going to the running back position. Derrick Henry of Alabama held steady to his one pick from last week (1.7%), and one brave sole has mocked Ezekiel Elliott of Ohio State to the Vikings this week as well (1.7%).

Last, we have the defensive line, where another new face is making his debut. This time around, that's defensive end Shaq Lawson of Clemson, who got one selection this week (1.7%).

So, what do the visuals look like this week? Well, let's start with our donut graph, which is a representation of just what's gone on this week in our Database.

Mock Draft Database v3.0 Donut

If that's a little too tough to read, you can see the full-sized version right here. Once again, a lot of purple (for the wide receivers) on this week's chart.

And, to see just how much Josh Doctson is dominating by, here's our "Jell-o salad" graph that depicts the trends through the first four iterations of our Database for 2016.

Mock Draft Database v3.0 Trends

Again, if it's too hard for you to read, you can see a full-sized version right here.

As I mentioned in the introduction to this week's Database, I'd expect next week's Database to be a bit more representative of what the Vikings have done in free agency this far. That means less emphasis on the offensive line (following the signing of Alex Boone) and an even greater emphasis on the wide receiver position.

But, that's the Database for this week, ladies and gentlemen. We'll see you back here again next Saturday for v4.0!
