Come in & discuss the latest, greatest, and all the glory ahead for the Vikings!

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Merry Tuesday, DN faithful! We're another day into the long NFL off-season. At least we have baseball.

Here's a schedule for the next month or so of the NFL off-season.

March 20-23: Annual league meeting, Boca Raton, Florida.

April 4: Clubs that hired a new head coach after the end of the 2015 regular season may begin offseason workout programs.

April 18: Clubs with returning head coaches may begin offseason workout programs.

April 22: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets.

Mid-to-late April: 2016 schedule release

April 28-30: 2016 NFL Draft, Chicago.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris is diligently maintaining the Vikings 2016 Free Agency Tracker.

Chris checked the Vikings' depth chart on the defensive side of the ball.

Wludford put up some Good Draft Picks for the Vikings.

Vikings news from other sources:

The Vikings will have plenty of competition on the offensive line, per Vikings.com.

Eric Smith posted a roundup of day one of the owners' meetings.

Vikings announced new bars (WOO HOO!) and group spaces (whatever that is) to U.S. Bank Stadium.

Vikings defensive line coach Andre Patterson said Montana prospect, Tyrone Holmes, reminds him of Everson Griffen, per NFL.com.

News from around the rest of the league:

NFL.com reported that Robert Kraft sent a letter to Goodell about the draft pick they lost over the deflated balls "investigation". An NFL source said there is zero chance the Patriots will get the pick back.

From CBS Sports, Nate Burleson thinks Calvin Johnson should take a year off, un-retire, then sign with the Patriots so he can get a ring. One flaw with that plan, Calvin would have to sign with the Vikings in order to win a ring. I guess no one told Nate, he should read the DN, I guess.

Twins update:

The Twins offense struggled, picking up just 6 hits and no runs, and they fell to the Pirates, 2-0. See five, that's what happens when you take Mauer out of the lineup.

With that, we come to today's media selection. Hey, I like Blues Traveler, so here they are with Hook.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the pickled pigs feet.
