It's a new week, kick it off here at the open thread!

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Merry Monday, everyone! I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter, I know I did. I wrapped a turkey breast in bacon, then smoked it. Here are pictures, as promised.

Before:

After:

'Round here since our last open thread:

Vikings fan group was scammed by a cancer hoax.

The Zimmer foundation has great t-shirts.

Chris posted Vikings Mock Draft Database, Version 5.0.

Chris takes a look at some NFL rule changes.

Vikings news from elsewhere:

From Vikings.com, Zimmer said Shurmur and Sparano lend creative ideas on offense.

The Strib says that Harrison Smith should eventually be the Vikings' next significant signing. In similarly surprising news..... water is wet.

Around the NFL:

Per NFL.com, Jimmy Haslam said the Browns will be teased until they win.

Detroit coach, Jim Caldwell, expects a breakout season from Ameer Abdullah.

Twins update:

Behind Gibson's arm and Plouffe's bat, the Twins blanked the Bucs on Saturday, 3-0. They got another good outing on Sunday, as Hughes pitched well, andthe Twins beat the hated Yankees, 5-2.

With that, we come to today's media selection. Here's a little funk, suggested by CCHOF5yearstoolate, thanks for the request, ChCHOF!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
