Wednesday Open Thread: March 30, 2016

It's the peak of the week, and your open thread is up and running.

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Hump Daaaaayyyy! Happy Wednesday, everyone. We're half way to another long awaited weekend.

For those DN brethren in the Bismarck area (or who plan on being in the Bismarck area during the draft), we are having a Vikings draft party at the house. Email me at bradh65@yahoo.com or hit me up on twitter if you're interested in stopping by. I'll have the smoker or boil pot going (depending on which day), and there will be only Vikings fans there.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris let us know that the U.S. Bank Stadium seat installation is complete.

Chris updated the results of the latest mock draft from SB Nation.

Vikings news from elsewhere:

Five will love this one, the Vikings aren't worried about Blair Walsh getting the yips, per NFL.com. (Warning: if you click on that link, the a** holes play that missed kick with zero warning)

From Vikings.com, coach Zimmer is aiming beyond being just 'good in spurts' next year. I really love the mentality that Zimmer brings to this team, I am SO thankful we hired him as our head coach.

Around the rest of the NFL:

From NFL.com, Cris Carter has been working with OSU WR Braxton Miller, who some are projecting could sneak into the first round (I highly doubt it, but that's what they say).

Myles Jack won't hold a personal pro day, and likely won't run a timed 40, per NFL.com.

The NFL demands a retraction of the New York Times story on concussions, per CBS News. The NFL is calling the research flawed.

Twins update:

In a rain-shortened game, Milone pitched okay, Sano & Dozier hit well, and the Twins beat the Red Sox, 6-2. Perkins picked up his first save of spring training.

With that, we come to today's media selection. Here's another selection suggested by CCHOF5yearstoolate, thanks again, ChCHOF!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
