While it sounds like the Minnesota Vikings have elected to pay over $11 million for the services of offensive tackle Matt Kalil, it appears that the other member of Minnesota's $11 million club will not be as fortunate.
Our friend Tom Pelissero is reporting on Twitter that the Vikings plan to release wide receiver Mike Wallace.
#Vikings are releasing Mike Wallace, source said.

The Vikings confirmed this via the Twitter right after.
Wallace just never got things going with Teddy Bridgewater in his one season with the Vikings. He caught just 39 passes for 473 yards and two touchdowns in 2015, and had several games where he went without a reception. Minnesota acquired Wallace (and a seventh-round pick) from the Miami Dolphins last offseason in exchange for a fifth-round choice.
With the way Wallace's deal was set up, the Vikings could cut him and his $11.5 million cap figure without incurring any dead money, and that's exactly what they've done. On Wallace's side, it appears that he might now be at the top of a very weak free agent wide receiver class.
The Minnesota Vikings have released wide receiver Mike Wallace. . .if the position wasn't already at the top of the Vikings' list of needs, it certainly appears that it's there now.
