2016 NFL Draft: Minnesota Vikings Select Kentrell Brothers

With their fifth round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, #160 overall, the Minnesota Vikings have taken a shot at addressing their linebacker corps.

With the 160th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected Kentrell Brothers, the linebacker out of the University of Missouri.

Brothers figures to be more of an inside linebacker in the Vikings' 4-3 scheme, which could eventually push Eric Kendricks to the outside. He's been a very effective run-stuffer at Missouri, and with three blocked kicks in his career has shown that he can also be an impact player on special teams. He isn't the fastest player on the field, having turned in a 4.89-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day, but he's a very solid tackler. At this point, he projects to more of a two-down type of player in the National Football League.

Brothers was the 65th player on our Daily Norseman Community Big Board, so to get him at pick #160 represents a pretty good value for the Vikings.

Welcome to Minnesota, Kentrell Brothers!
