Merry Monday everyone! Another weekend down, many more to go until training camp. Come wait it out here.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris asked "Which Vikings games should go up on YouTube?". The NFL will be putting three "classic" games for each team up on YouTube.
Laquon Treadwell is the favorite player of Ole Miss fans. They don't care much about the underwear olympics results, either.
Football Outsiders is another media outlet that thinks our Vikings will be worse in 2016 than they were in 2015.
U.S. Bank Stadium put on a light show. Well, people actually put the light show on, but it was at U.S. Bank Stadium, but you know what I mean.
Chris shares Twitter handles for Vikings rookies and UDFAs.
Chris tells us how we can play at U.S. Bank Stadium before the Vikings do.
Chris shared the story about Adrian Peterson comparing Bridgewater to Tom Brady. AD didn't really compare the two, but people on Twitter were losing their minds over it, so it had to be shared.
Is there tailgating trouble for U.S. Bank Stadium? We already covered this on the open thread last week, but go ahead and voice your opinion.
Vikings news from other sources:
Wobby posted his Monday Morning Mailbag over at Vikings.com.
Lindsey Young at Vikings.com looks at what role Laquon Treadwell and Mackensie Alexander will play in 2016.
At The Inquisitr, they share a rumor that the Vikings could end up signing WR Roddy White.
At The Vikings Age, they say the Vikings players returned to camp in top shape.
From the Star Tribune, they say the strong Minnesota coaching quartet inspires confidence.
Around the rest of the NFL:
From NFL.com, it sounds like Chip Kelly is trying to mend fences with Colin Kaepernick.
The Browns think that Robert Griffen III can be more than just a bridge guy, per NFL.com.
Larry Fitzgerald got his college degree, story from NFL.com.
NFL.com looks at the best players still available on the free agent market.
Twins update:
The Twins and the bullpen lost a close one on Friday, 6-7. Then they went on a tear (for this year, it's a tear, so work with me here). Behind the arm of Santana and Juan Ceneno's first career home run, the Twins snapped their horrible losing streak and beat the Indians, 6-3. I hope you're sitting down, because I have even more shocking news. The Twins, behind a great start by Tyler Duffey, beat the Indians again yesterday, 5-1. The win gave the Twins their first road series win of the season.
With that, we come to today's media selection. For some of our newer members who haven't had the experience, here's a trip to the Merril roundabout.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese.
