Happy Tuesday, everyone! I really want the weekend to get here so I can go fishing, I think we're going to get the camper out for the first time this year. I can't wait. Well, yeah I can, I guess I kinda' have to.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

ESPN named Alex Boone as the Vikings' biggest offseason move.

I hope you're sitting down, but Chris shared this story that Skip Bayless praised the Vikings. I know, I almost fell out of my chair, too.

NFL.com reminded us not to forget Trae Waynes, per Chris.

Vikings news from elsewhere:

Per Vikings.com, the Vikings veterans play an important role.

NFL Spinzone gives us three Vikings players who will surprise in 2016-17.

I like this title from Vikings Journal, "Transformation to Contender: The Alex Boone effect".

Adrian Peterson was left off the NFL top 101 players list, per the Star Tribune. Huh?

Around the NFL:

Sammy Watkins suffered a small broken bone in his foot, per NFL.com. In more bad news for the Bills, Shaq Lawson, their first round draft pick, will undergo shoulder surgery.

The Titans waived their backup QB, Zach Mettenberger.

Twins update:

The Twins couldn't expand their 2 game winning streak to 3. Berrios didn't even finish the first inning, and the Tigers put up an 8 spot in that inning. The Twins mounted a comeback attempt, and actually tied the game, but the bullpen does what it's done too much of this year, and the Tigers won, 8-10.

With that, we come to today's media selection. Thanks to deekness for the musical suggestion today, this is Boombox.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese.
