The brand new home of the Minnesota Vikings, U.S. Bank Stadium, is nearly complete. While some folks have already been fortunate enough to get tours of the incomplete facility, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has announced that full tours of the building will be open to the public in the very near future.

The MSFA announced that tours of the building will be available starting on 24 August. However, you can start buying tickets for those tours starting a week from Thursday on 26 May. The price for the tour is $19 for adults, with cheaper tickets for children, senior citizens, students, and military veterans.

If you don't want to wait until August, you can call and book private tours by calling 612-777-8776 or by e-mailing tours@usbankstadium.com. You can also start doing that on 26 May. There is also going to be an "open house" weekend on 23-24 July that is open to the public.

NOTE: It turns out that the tours@usbankstadium.com e-mail address shown in the previous paragraph will not be active until 26 May. Don't attempt to e-mail them earlier than that, or your e-mail will just bounce back. Thank you to KARE-11 for providing clarification.

"U.S. Bank Stadium Tours include a behind the scenes look at the well-appointed clubs and suites, the press box, and the Minnesota Vikings Locker Room," said Michele Kelm-Helgen, Chair of the MSFA. "Well-informed tour guides will lead the exploration of the stadium, sharing facts and figures that highlight the Nordic-inspired architectural features, iconic ethylene-tetraflouroethylene (ETFE) roof structure and the signature glass pivoting doors."

The first Vikings-related event at the new stadium will take place on 28 August, when the Vikings host the San Diego Chargers in the third of their four preseason games. They will also play at the stadium on 1 September in their final preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. Their first regular season game will take place on Sunday night, 18 September, when the Vikings host the Green Bay Packers.
