It's the Monday after the draft, come share how you think the Vikings did.

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Merry post-draft overreaction Monday, everyone! I know today will be busy, so if the thread gets full, I'll do my best to get a new one up promptly. I also know that things can get heated, let's try to keep away from that, but if you see anything that needs attention, please let me know at bradh65@yahoo.com and I'll address it as soon as possible. I'm not sure how much I'll be on here, but I'll be available.

Hey, did anyone notice that NDSU had the same number of first round draft picks as Alabama? I did. I also like how we drafted. I'm a fan of the Treadwell pick, as most of you know. I think he's going to be a very good fit in our offense, and I could see he and Diggs being a solid 1-2 punch. We got a steal in the second, and our CB corps is going to be lethal in the years to come. I also think it was smart of Rick to get the future picks with the trade in the third. I also think Brothers could be that thumping run stopper that our LB corps desperately needs. When you're picking later in the draft, you won't see the big, splashy picks that we've had in years past, but I think Rick & the staff did a nice job of helping build our roster and adding solid depth.

Here's what I made to cap off the draft on Saturday evening. 'Twas yummy.

Around the DN from draft weekend:

Instead of posting each pick on here, I'll just post this link to Chris' storystream. You'll find each pick on there, as well as other draft-related stories.

Ted posted the Stock Market Report for the Vikings draft.

Our newest cornerback, Mackensie Alexander, was featured on ESPN SportsCenter on Sunday.

Chris has an UDFA tracker where you can monitor the Vikings' activity in the UDFA market.

CCNorseman has his Vikings draft grades. Wludford has his as well.

Chris has a synopsis of the sequence of events in round six, and it doesn't appear the Dolphins will receive a 4th round comp.

Eric gives us his early impressions of Beavers and Brothers (I chuckled, too. Don't feel bad).

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com:

Here's a transcript of Rick Spielman's post-draft press conference.

Here are highlights of the 2016 Vikings draft class, and here are photos.

Eric Smith looks at who joined our NFC North rivals.

Take a look at highlights of Kentrell Brothers.

In case you hadn't heard, the Vikings made history with the selection of German WR Moritz Boehringer, from CBS Sports.

Around the NFL:

The Bears released veteran safety, Antrel Rolle, per NFL.com.

Also at NFL.com, DeMarco Murray loved the pick of Derrick Henry. Contrast that with the reaction of whiny Sam Bradford on the pick of Carson Wentz.

Other sports news of note:

It was a rough weekend for the Twins as they took on their division rival Detroit Tigers. They got rocked on Friday, 9-2. The offfense was still asleep on Saturday, and they fell again, 4-1. Yesterday was a little better, but not good enough, as the bullpen blew a lead (again) and the Twins lost, 6-5.

With that, we come to today's media selection. I tried to come up with something to coincide with the hysteria we see from some folks after each draft, and this is what I thought of. Here's the Reverand Horton Heat with Psychobilly Freakout.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the pickled northern.
