Merry Tuesday, everyone! Another lovely day, with summer fast approaching. I love this time of year. Most importantly, today is day one of OTAs for the Vikings! We may have a little actual football news to share in the next couple weeks.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The Vikings signed a DE and waived a RB.
Chris shared a great picture of the U.S. Bank Stadium turf.
It sounds like Adrian Peterson is going to show up for OTAs.
The Vikings are one of the NFL's most talented teams.
Vikings news from other sources:
From Vikings.com:
Wobby posted the Monday Morning Mailbag.
Vikings defenders shine best as a group.
Joe Berger is embracing competition along the offensive line.
Here's a video of Vikings players on a tour of U.S. Bank Stadium.
At the Strib, Michael Rand says the 'prove it year narrative' from the national media is on for Teddy Bridgewater.
Kyle Rudolph announced he and his wife are expecting twin girls at......a Twins game. Hey, at least Twins fans got something to smile about.
Around the NFL:
Tom Brady filed a petition for a rehearing of his suspension case, per NFL.com.
The Browns cut Brian Hartline to make room for rookies. I had no idea he was still in the league.
Ryan Fitzpatrick would like to be back with the Jets this year.
Jacksonville has horrible luck. Another draft pick suffered an injury in OTAs, as their 7th round pick, Jonathan Woodard, injured his achilles and underwent surgery. He is expected to miss the 2016 season.
Twins update:
The Twins got rocked by the Royals, 4-10. Nolasco sucked, May sucked, and Jepsen sucked. Mauer had a nice night at the plate, and the Twins only struck out 5 times, which is an improvement. Gotta find rays of sunshine somewhere.
With that, we come to today's media selection. Here's a great one by Widespread Panic, enjoy.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
