Merry Thirsty Thorsday, everyone!

Around the DN since our last open thread:

It was a busy day for the Vikings' front office, as they got a lot of their draft picks signed to contracts. They signed S Jayron Kearse, they signed TE David Morgan (no relation to Captain Morgan, I'm told), they signed the second round CB Mackensie Alexander, and they signed DE Stephen Weatherly.

Chris let us know that Bud Grant is having another garage sale. If you have a chance to go, do it. I have some pretty cool items from his garage sales, including this cribbage board that was made from a canoe paddle (yes, the pegs are bullets, they're real and came with it).

Vikings news from other sources:

Adrian Peterson commits $100,000 for a Texas flood victim, and asks fans to join the cause.

Here are five things to know about Mackensie Alexander.

Chad Greenway encourages students at the 1st annual Reach Conference.

PFF ranks Mackensie Alexander as the 5th best draft pick.

Per the Strib, the Vikings only have three draft picks left to sign.

From ESPN, Tona Sparano wants guys with the 'ability to dent people'.

Around the rest of the NFL:

From, Johnny Manziel was booked, and posted bail in his domestic violence case.

Andrew Luck made's top 100 list, but he slid pretty far.

ESPN looks at 17 ways NFL players mess up money from the start.

Twins update:

Well, that escalated quickly. Hughes was knocked out of the game after two innings, and the Twins got blasted by the Astros, 16-4.

With that, we come to today's media selection. Here's some of my music, this is Frankie Miller with Black Land Farmer.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the pickled northern.
