More Than Words 2016: The Mike Zimmer Foundation

As we informed you on Monday, today marks the beginning of the second annual. . .well, hopefully annual. . .More Than Words campaign. There are a group of blogs dedicated to the Minnesota Vikings, ourselves included, that are going to be a part of this effort to raise $10,000 for a deserving charity with Vikings connections.

This year, the charity that we're going to be helping is none other than the recently launched Mike Zimmer Foundation. The Mike Zimmer Foundation is dedicated to keeping the spirit of Coach Zimmer's late wife, Vikki, alive by providing opportunities for young people everywhere, helping them to reach a much brighter tomorrow with opportunities they might not otherwise have.

Any donations made will go directly to the Mike Zimmer Foundation. . .not to me or to any of the other blogs that make up this fundraising campaign. It will go directly to the charity we're supporting. Our goal, as it was last year, is to raise $10,000. We came up a bit short last year, but hopefully this season we can see our final number increase.

The Mike Zimmer Foundation has been kind enough to donate a lot of great, great things that we will be using as giveaways for this year's campaign. For every $10 you donate, you will receive one entry into the random drawing that will be held at the end of the campaign. What sort of prizes are there? Well, how about these:

We're anticipating having more prizes included by the end of the campaign. . .but, even if we didn't, that's still a pretty impressive collection of stuff.

So, how can you donate to the cause? All you have to do is head over to the Donations Page that Vikings Territory is hosting and hit the "Donate" button.

The Mike Zimmer Foundation is already doing great things for kids in the Twin Cities area. We would like to give them the ability to do even more, and we'd love for you to help us out.
