With their mandatory mini-camp concluding on Thursday, the Minnesota Vikings have released their full schedule for their 2016 Training Camp.
For the 51st consecutive year, the Vikings' Training Camp will be taking place at the University of Minnesota-Mankato. Players will be reporting on Thursday, 28 July, with the first practice taking place on Friday, 29 July.
As we told you a couple of weeks ago, the Vikings will be holding a couple of joint practice with Mike Zimmer's former team, the Cincinnati Bengals. That will cause their time in Mankato to end up getting cut short. Those practices will take place on Wednesday, 10 August, and Thursday, 11 August, leading up to the pre-season opener between the two teams in Cincinnati on Friday, 12 August.
For most days during this year's camp, there will be two practice sessions per day. The morning session will be a walk-through that runs from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. The afternoon session will take place from 2:45 to 5:00 PM. There will be four days that are exceptions to that schedule.
-Tuesday, 2 August has been designated as a day off.
-Saturday, 6 August will see the morning session take place at the normal time, but the evening session will be the annual scrimmage at Blakeslee Stadium. That will take place from 7:15 to 9:15 PM, with fireworks to follow.
-Sunday, 7 August has been designated as a day off.
-Tuesday, 9 August will see only one practice session from 8:00 to 10:00 AM before the Vikings depart for Cincinnati.
All times are Central time because. . .seriously, what other time would we give them to you in?
The practice on 9 August will be the final practice session in Mankato for this season. When the team resumes practice on Monday, 14 August, they will do so back at Winter Park.
You can see the entire Training Camp schedule for the Vikings on the team's official website.
As we get closer to camp, I'm assuming the team will be releasing more information on Training Camp autograph sessions and things of that nature. When they do, we will bring them to you here.
There's your schedule for the Minnesota Vikings' 2016 Training Camp, ladies and gentlemen. How many of you are planning on making the trek?
