Merry Tuesday, everyone! There's not a whole lot of news out there, so this will be fairly brief. I may not be around much again today, so feel free to email me if something needs to be addressed.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The Vikings signed Harrison Smith to a five-year extension.
Teddy Bridgewater will be playing the Feud!
From Vikings.com:
Wobby opened the Monday Morning Mailbag.
Harrison Smith is happy to be staying in Minnesota. He said he can't imagine a better place to play.
Vikings WRs go from imaginary dunks to real-deal catches.
Here are 3 observations from the Vikings' 7th OTA practice.
Here are highlights from OTA number 7.
Ian Rapoport talks about Harrison Smith's new deal.
Around the rest of the league:
Aqib Talib was released from the hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound, per NFL.com. Yahoo Sports shared a report that said he was too drunk to remember the incident.
Aaron Rodgers is swearing off cheese, per ESPN. I expect backlash.
ESPN is reporting that Jason Pierre-Paul won't be celebrating the 4th with fireworks this year. Smart move, Jason.
Yahoo Sports is speculating that the Broncos and Von Miller may be close to signing a record deal.
With that, we come to today's media selection. I looked for some games from our 1998 season, and there aren't many, but I did find this one. It's our week 15 matchup against the Ravens.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
