Horns, Swords and a Longship: July 15-17 Weekend Edition!

It's the weekend everybody, enjoy the nice weather (for those of us who have nice weather, anyway)

Whose up for a game of four square?

I haven't had time to read through Friday's open thread just yet, but as I have not received any emails about it, I assume it went well. So enjoy this weekend edition of Horns, Swords and a Longship, and I'll see you on the flip side!

Contract extension news: The Raiders have agreed on a four-year extension with CB David Amerson. The Ravens managed to strike a long-term deal with kicker Justin Tucker. Mo Wilkerson and the Jets agreed to a contract extension. Finally, Von Miller and the Broncos appear to have agreed on a six-year deal. In failure to complete a contract extension news, the Chiefs and Eric Berry were unable to complete negotiations on a long-term deal and Berry will, as far as I know, play the 2016 season under the franchise tag. Here's a list of the other players who failed to complete negotiations on new contracts (though Wilkerson's name can be ignored as he and the Jets did agree on a contract).

Suspension news: San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aaron Lynch was suspended for four games yesterday for violation of the NFL Substance Abuse policy. On the other side of the country, Bills RB Karlos Williams has been banned for four games of his own, likely under the same policy.

There's apparently going to be a three-year study on the effect of the new Vikings stadium on bird migratory patterns or something along those lines.

Ray Rice is apparently aware that his return window to the NFL is almost certainly gone by now.

Randy Moss likes the Laquon Treadwell/Teddy Bridgewater pairing.

Adrian Peterson uses MMA and boxing to improve as a running back.

No official music for the day, just imagine what nature sounds like and that'll be your soundtrack for the weekend.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the disco light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your local dolphin brigade, & try the fried rabbit!
