We're crawling, inch by inch, to the beginning of training camp.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Merry Tuesday, everyone! We've made it 1/5 of the way through the week, we'll get there.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Eric Thompson of the Daily Norseman got to meet and talk with Anthony Barr during his youth football camp at Winter Park.

Admiral BigGun kicked off week 2 of the Epic DN Fan Photo Contest. Submit your pictures, let's build a huge gallery of us misfits. Submit your photos to photos@tailgatemaster.com; the only rule is that you must be a member of the Daily Norseman and the photo musst contain a Vikings jersey.

Vikings news from other sources:

Thanks to Admiral BigGun for the heads up on this. SKOLT SCOTT from the VWO has a new podcast called the Three Deep Podcast. He is joined by Joe Oberle, a Senior Writer from VikingsJournal.com, and Joe Johnson, the owner of purplePTSD.com/Writer for VikingsJournal.com.; give it a listen.

From Vikings.com:

Wobby looked at the defensive line in his latest Training Camp Preview.

Single-game tickets for the inaugural season at U.S. Bank Stadium will go on sale Wednesday.

Michael Irvin said Laquon Treadwell will put the Vikings on 'another level'.

From the Strib, Randy Moss has some high praise for Laquon Treadwell and Teddy Bridgewater.

Around the NFL:

From NFL.com, Arian Foster signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins. It's only for $1.5 million and an additional $2 million in incentives. Remember when he was supposed to be better than Adrian Peterson? Me too.

Charles Tillman has decided to retire after a 13 year career, per NFL.com.

Frank Schwab at Yahoo Sports wonders if it's time to worry about Andrew Luck.

Twins update:

The Twins bats decided that it wasn't enough to just go to sleep, so they went into a coma last night. Nolasco got the loss after a nice outing, and the Twins fell to the Tigers, 0-1.

With that, we come to today's media selection. Here's a good one from Toby Keith, along with a true story about what inspired the song.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
