Horns, Swords and a Longship: July 22, 2016

New, comments

We reach the end of another week. Enjoy your Friday!

Longship Log:

Eric guest-hosted a podcast with Arif.

The offensive line player procession will be a must-watch in training camp this year.

We proceed to the next hit on the Vikings schedule, the Arizona Cardinals.

Around the Horns:

1500ESPN.com: The training camp previews on 1500ESPN continue with their look at the Vikings receivers. The Fantasy Football Party Podcast has returned for another seasonEpisode 141 of the Purple Podcast is up as well.

Vikings Journal: The Three Deep podcast has their second episode out. Matt Fries has a scouting report on Vikings rookie Kentrell Brothers. Joe Oberle writes about his visit to U.S. Bank Stadium. And because they're really bored, they have 5 Big Questions about the Gophers' upcoming season.

Vikings Territory: They have their Question of the Week.

Bleacher Report: The Vikings installed U.S. Bank's Gjallarhorn recently. The broken window at the stadium could take up to two months to fix. The NFL Network had their sneak preview of the new stadium.

Reddit: Teddy Bridgewater is a QB stud-in-the-making. The NFL Network played "More or Less" with Vikings stats for the 2016 season. NFL.com has their look at the Vikings and their potential for the 2016 season. Everson Griffen is really looking forward to the 2016 season.

Swords from the Opposing Horde:

Ray Rice thinks begging for a spot on a roster will work.

The NFC East should be interesting to say the least this season.

Josh Gordon met with Roger Goodell yesterday about his potential reinstatement.

JJ Watt had back surgery and will begin training camp on the PUP list but will apparently be fine for the season. Shades of John Sullivan IMO. It appears that his recovery could take up to 10 weeks.

The submission process for names for the Denver Broncos' stadium has been extended due to lack of interest.

Minnesota Twins update:

The Twins got crushed by the Red Sox yesterday 13-2 after Tyler Duffey had a really tough and short outing. The Twins return to action tomorrow at 6:10 CT with Kyle Gibson scheduled to face Eddie Rodriguez.

I hope you enjoy this little bunch of fun from a few years ago.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the disco light is down and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your local dolphin brigade, & try the braised droid circuits.
