Happy Monday, everyone! We've all been waiting for real football to start, and the wait is over. Training camp started Thursday (even though it really started on Friday), and we have actual football news to share, good and bad.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
CCNorseman has a cool story to share.
The Vikings shuffled the roster before their first practice.
Chris looked at the difference between the PUP and the NFI.
Ted brought us a moment of Zim Tzu after the first day of training camp.
The Vikings signed Claudell Louis, a DT (and not a punter, grrrr), and the roster is now full.
Mike Harris may not play at all in 2016. The team placed him on the Non-Football Injury List with some sort of head injury.
Adrian Peterson is dealing with a minor hamstring issue.
Ted has a training camp roundup.
Kenrick Ellis wasactivated from the PUP list.
Skol Girl tells us a tale of two progressions.
Vikings news from elsewhere:
Mike Zimmer is looking forward to seeing the team back in pads.
Here are highlights from practice no. 2.
Teddy says 'there are no excuses this year'.
Captain Munnerlyn had a beautiful pass breakup and juggling INT.
Stefon Diggs says he's better than he showed last season.
From ESPN, the Vikings are just being careful as they keep Adrian Peterson out of practice.
Around the league:
From NFL.com, the Niners are in the midst of a QB battle.
Nolasco tossed a beauty on Friday, but didn't get the win, as the Twins waited until the 12th to win it 2-1 over the White Sox. Despite a big night by Escobar, the Twins couldn't hold off the White Sox on Saturday, and lost 5-6. On Sunday, Santana had a decent outing, and Dozier had the hot bat, and the Twins beat the White Sox 6-4.
We come to today's media selection. It seems like a good day for Beavis and Butthead.
