Vikings at Bengals: Game Time, Channel, Radio, Streaming and More

NFL: AFC Wild Card-Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

On Friday evening, for the first time since January, we will be able to see the Minnesota Vikings take to an NFL field. They will open their 2016 preseason against Mike Zimmer’s former employer, the Cincinnati Bengals. We want everybody to be able to take in the action from Ohio if they want to, and this post is all about how you can do that.

Television Info

Kickoff for this one is scheduled for 6:30 PM Central time on Friday, 12 August. If you are watching in the greater Twin Cities area, the game will be shown on KMSP-9. If you are outside of the Twin Cities, the game will be shown on the following networks:

WDIO (ABC/10-13 - Duluth)
KTTC (CW/10.2 - Rochester MN)

KCCI (CBS/8 - Des Moines IA)
KPTH (FOX/44 - Sioux City IA)

It will also be carried on these networks, but the call will be provided by the Bengals’ play-by-play team of Brad Johansen and Hall of Fame offensive tackle Anthony Muñoz:

WKRC appears to be the Bengals’ flagship station.

If you don’t manage to catch the live broadcast of this one, it will be replayed on the NFL Network at 6 AM Central on Saturday, 13 August and 9 AM Central on Tuesday, 16 August.

Radio Info

This game will be broadcast on the Vikings Radio Network, with the call provided by the team of Paul Allen and Pete Bercich. (Their call is also simulcast on the television broadcast.) You can find a full list of Vikings Radio Network affiliates on the official team website. See if you can find one in your area.

If you’ll be listening through the miracle of satellite radio, you can find the Vikings’ feed on XM Channel 230 or Sirius Channel 108. The Bengals’ feed will be available on XM Channel 227 or Sirius Channel 83. If you’re using the SiriusXM online app, you can find the Vikings’ feed on Channel 818.

Referee Info

Unfortunately, the officiating assignments have not been publicized by our favorite source, Football Zebras, or anywhere else on the internet that I can find.

Streaming Info

From what I can tell, the only legal stream for this game would come from NFL Game Pass.

As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own. And feel free to not blame us for any ill effects your computer or device might suffer as a result.

That should be all of the information you need in order to enjoy Friday night’s contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals from Paul Brown Stadium. We’ll have the Game Thread up and ready to go approximately an hour before kickoff, and we hope to see a lot of you folks there for it.
