LADIES AND GENTLEMEN TEDDYGHAZIGATE HAS ENDED WOOOOOO ZOMG !!!!!!11!!!!!!!
So, I guess that was fun while it lasted. Bridgewater, who was a last-minute scratch against Seattle in the Vikings second pre-season game, had been the cause of concern, wonder, speculation, and borderline panic amongst some of us in Vikings land.
/loosens collar
/looks around
/clears throat
/frantically deletes recent Twitter history regarding this
It kind of came to a head a couple days ago, when Bridgewater AND Shaun Hill (which is Latvian for 'noodle armed guy we suddenly clung to like a life raft') missed practice, and the Vikings signed QB Brad Sorenson.
When you add the double whammy of Joel Stave taking most of the first team reps, combined with ESPN's Ben Goessling reporting that Bridgewater had a sore shoulder, most spouses of Vikings fans were seen frantically going through their houses removing sharp objects, ropes, and firearms.
Why? because life long fans of the Vikings...eternal pessimists that we are...automatically assumed that this was going to turn in to something along the lines of John Sullivan's 'back spasms' last year. And as we know, Sullivan ended up missing the 2015 season after his spine was pulled from his body when he was stalked and killed by The Predator while in Central America last year while on vacation. All the while the Vikings just assured us that Sullivan wasn't dead, he just had 'back spasms'.*
*John Sullivan didn't really die. Didn't really have just back spasms, either. But he screwed his back up and missed all season.
BUT LET US DANCE IN THE STREETS AND SING SONGS OF JOY AS TEDDY BRIDGEWATER HAS RETURNED TO PRACTICE AND HIS ARM ISN'T INFECTED WITH EBOLA OR SPERGEON WYNNITIS AND HE SHALL BE FINE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HUZZAH HUZZAH!!
So if I am reading updates correctly, Bridgewater, Eric Kendricks, Rhett Ellison, and Brandon Fusco are all back and practicing. Xavier Rhodes' injury is minor and should be back soon, if he isn't already, so the Vikings are looking about as healthy as they have in over a year.
