NFL: San Diego Chargers at Minnesota Vikings Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

We are a mere 24 hours away from the kickoff of the first honest-to-goodness NFL game at U.S. Bank Stadium, with the Minnesota Vikings doing battle with the San Diego Chargers. I don’t know about you, but I’m awfully excited to see what this place looks like for football up close, and if you’re excited as well. . .or even if you’re not, I guess. . .we have all of the ways that you can follow the action right here for you.

Television Info

This is going to be a rarity for preseason games, as it starts at that most awesome time for NFL football, which is noon Central time on Sunday. This is also going to be a nationally-featured preseason game on FOX, which is KMSP Channel 9 in the Twin Cities area. For other cities across the nation. . .well, just turn on your local FOX affiliate and the Vikings will be there!

Because this is a nationally televised game, we will get the call from FOX announcers Kevin Burkhardt and John Lynch and not the simulcast with the Vikings Radio Network.

Since this is a nationally televised game. . .or for another reason I’m not totally sure of. . .I can’t find a date/time for a rebroadcast of this game on the NFL Network before the Vikings’ last preseason game on 1 September. If I get some sort of word on that, we’ll put it here for you as an update.

In addition, the second game on FOX on Sunday afternoon (which is also nationally televised) will feature a couple of Vikings’ opponents for this year, with the Arizona Cardinals taking on the Houston Texans. . .if you’re interested, I mean.

Radio Info

This game will be broadcast on the Vikings Radio Network, with the call provided by the team of Paul Allen and Pete Bercich. You can find a full list of Vikings Radio Network affiliates on the official team website. See if you can find one in your area.

If you’re going to be listening in through satellite radio, you can find the Vikings’ feed on Sirius or XM Channel 88 or Channel 818 through the SiriusXM online app. If you’d rather listen to the Chargers feed, you can find them on Sirius or XM Channel 83 or Channel 826 on the online app.

Referee Info

Courtesy of the good folks at Football Zebras, we can tell you that the officiating crew for this week’s contest will be led by John Hussey. He officiated one Vikings game last season, the Vikings’ 23-20 victory over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Last season was his first year as a lead referee, as he spent 13 years as a line judge prior to that.

Streaming Info

From what I can tell, the only legal stream for this game would come from NFL Game Pass.

As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own. And feel free to not blame us for any ill effects your computer or device might suffer as a result.

That should be all of the information you need in order to enjoy Sunday afternoon’s contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the San Diego Chargers from U.S. Bank Stadium. We’ll have the Game Thread up and ready to go approximately an hour before kickoff, and we hope to see a lot of you folks there for it.
