Mike Zimmer NFL Coach of the Year Co-Favorite

As his players reported to Training Camp, Mike Zimmer was rewarded by the Minnesota Vikings for what he had done in his first two years as head coach with a contract extension. It appears that Zimmer has gotten the attention of some of the folks that run sportsbooks out there as well.

According to information that was sent to us by the folks from Bovada, Zimmer is currently listed as the co-favorite to be named the 2016 NFL Coach of the Year.

Zimmer is currently listed by Bovada has being a 15/2 favorite to be named this year's top coach, the same odds being given to Arizona Cardinals head man Bruce "I'm Not Saying It's" Arians.

(But it's Arians.)

It's pretty high praise for Zimmer, who is listed ahead of a number of more prominent coaches, such as Green Bay's Mike McCarthy (9/1 odds), Bill Belichick (10/1), and Pete Carroll (12/1). We'll give you the full list below.

If Zimmer can continue putting the Vikings on the upward trajectory that we've seen over the past couple of years, he'd certainly be on the short list to win the Coach of the Year Award. Zimmer's presence on the sidelines is just one more thing to be excited about with this football team.
