Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Monday, everyone! It's a new week, and training camp is in full swing. Saturday was a blast, it was my first trip to training camp & I can't wait to go again. We're already planning next year's trip. Thanks to Supa for the navigation (and dinner).

Around the DN since our last open thread:

The Adrian Peterson case is finally over after almost two years.

The Vikings have signed running back Kevin Monangai.

Ted gives a big thank you to Brett Favre. 2009 was certainly a magical year.

Eric tells us all about the 2016 rule changes, straight from NFL referees.

Eric posted a training camp gallery from 8/5, and another from Saturday's night practice.

DN was on Purple FTW! (Again).

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com:

Wobby opened the Monday Morning Mailbag.

Craig Peters has highlights from the Brett Favre and Tony Dungy Hall-Of-Fame speeches.

Jeff Locke has tweaked his approach and boosted his confidence for 2016, according to Eric Smith.

There are roster spots on the line in Mankato.

Alex Boone is set to bring physicality and energy to the O-line.

Matt Vensel at the Strib says Stefon Diggs is making a great second impression.

Around the rest of the league:

The Hall of Fame game was cancelled due to field concerns, per NFL.com.

NFL.com reported that Thomas Rawls has passed his physical and is off the PUP list.

Brandon Spikes is back in the NFL after signing a one year deal with Buffalo, per NFL.com.

Twins update:

The resurgent Twins looked good on Friday behind a solid outing by Santana, and more power from their lineup, and they beat the Rays 6-2. Berrios got roughed up a bit on Saturday, and the Twins fell to the Rays 3-7. The Twins bounced back yesterday, though. Sano showed off his power, and Gibson got the W as the Twins knocked off the Rays, 6-3.

We come to today's media selection. Here's some more of my music, Don Williams is one of my favorite country singers, next to Merle Haggard.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the liver.
