In a bit of a surprising move, the Minnesota Vikings are waiving a player that it appeared had a pretty solid preseason at the defensive tackle position for the purple.
#Vikings have waived Toby Johnson, says source.

According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the team has chosen to waive defensive tackle Toby Johnson. The Vikings are pretty deep at defensive tackle, but Johnson appeared to have done a lot of good things this preseason, and I’m personally surprised that he’s not making the roster.
Johnson collected a very nice diving interception in the preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams, and provided a pretty solid presence in the middle of the defensive line when he was on the field for the Vikings. I’d certainly have to think that the Vikings will make an effort to bring him back to the practice squad, but there might be some other teams interested in his services.
Plenty of roster moves still to go, folks! We’ll have all of them for you right here.
