Minnesota Vikings Waive RB C.J. Ham

The pride of Augustana College didn’t make the 53-man roster, but will apparently be brought back to the practice squad.

Cracking the running back depth chart for the Minnesota Vikings is a tough task for anybody. The Vikings have three solid backs in Adrian Peterson, Jerick McKinnon, and Matt Asiata. However, the man that led the Vikings in rushing this preseason may have a future with the team after all.

Per numerous sources, the Vikings will be waiving running back C.J. Ham, but have the desire to bring him back to the practice squad.

Ham, who signed with the Vikings from Augustana College, led the team in rushing this preseason with 140 yards on 44 carries. He also found the end zone twice, with each score coming from a yard out.

The Vikings desire to bring Ham back to the practice squad means that they will not be offering a spot to Jhurell Pressley after all. Pressley had been released earlier in the day.

More moves to come as the Vikings get their roster down to the 53-man limit by 3 PM Central time!
