If there’s one position that the Minnesota Vikings are pretty solid at, it’s tight end. Kyle Rudolph is the main starter, Rhett Ellison (off his knee injury) is the primary blocking guy, and they have a couple of younger players they like in MyCole Pruitt and David Morgan. So, it was going to be hard for anyone to crack the depth chart at that spot.
According to numerous sources, the Vikings will be waiving tight end Kyle Carter. Carter, who went undrafted out of Penn State this past April, was given a $10,000 signing bonus as a UDFA in the post-draft process, but couldn’t climb high enough up the depth chart to make the roster.
It appears that the Vikings want to bring Carter back to their practice squad, but it remains to be seen whether or not that will happen or not.
