Minnesota Vikings Waive G Isame Faciane

The converted defensive tackle did not make the 53-man roster for the Vikings.

As one of their final cuts, the Minnesota Vikings have parted ways with a player that has been on the team for a couple of years and even underwent a position switch.

Per the team’s website, the Vikings have announced that they have waived offensive lineman Isame Faciane.

Faciane came to the Vikings in 2014 as a defensive tackle, and spent the 2014 season on Minnesota’s practice squad. Prior to the 2015 season, he moved from the defensive line to the offensive line, making the transition to guard. He appeared to play relatively well during the preseason, but with all the competition along the offensive line for the purple, he couldn’t find his way onto the roster.

At this point, with Faciane having spent two years on the practice squad already, I’m not sure if Faciane is eligible to come back to it again or not. We will find out on Sunday when the practice squads are put together.
