Jhurell Pressley Claimed By Packers

There might not have been room for the undrafted free agent on the Vikings’ roster, but he’ll stay in the NFC North.

While the Minnesota Vikings did not claim any players during the waiver process on Sunday following final cuts, one of the players they cut ties with will be remaining in the NFC North.

Running back Jhurell Pressley, who was waived by the Vikings on Saturday, was claimed off of waivers by the Green Bay Packers.

(Good thing it wasn’t the other way around, or we’d be subject to hearing all kinds of stupid garbage today.)

Pressley had a big performance in the Vikings’ preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams. Even though he only gained 29 yards rushing on 14 carries, he did manage to find the end zone on a 28-yard touchdown reception and an electrifying 106-yard kickoff return.

The Vikings did not indicate that they were interested in bringing Pressley back to the practice squad, reportedly preferring fellow rookie C.J. Ham, who led the Vikings in rushing this preseason. Now, he’s going to have an opportunity for a division rival instead.

Everyone else that the Vikings parted ways with on Saturday has, reportedly, cleared waivers.

Waiver claim time is over, and teams can now start building their practice squads. We will have updates on who the Vikings bring on board as we get the news.
