Merry Tuesday, everyone!

Hey, sorry this is a little late. Life got in the way a bit this morning. I may not be around much, so if anything needs to be addressed, please email me.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

In a move that should bring a smile to five’s face, the Vikings have reportedly fired QB coach, Scott Turner.

Chris tells us that Harrison Smith is a fine, upstanding man.

Vikings news from other sources:

Andrew Krammer at the Star-Tribune looks at grades for the Vikings, and Berger and Boone lead an underwhelming offensive line.

Yahoo Sports shares what they would do if they were the Vikings GM.

From Vikings.com:

You can vote now for the Vikings defensive play of the year.

Wobby opened the Monday Morning Mailbag.

Around the rest of the league:

The Jaguars hired Doug Marrone to be their new head coach, per NFL.com.

The Jaguars also hired Tom Coughlin as Executive VP of Football Operations, from Yahoo Sports.

From NFL.com, Jordy Nelson suffered at least two broken ribs against the Giants.

We come to today’s media selection.

On this day in 1956, Elvis Presley made his first recordings for RCA Records, this song was one of the songs he recorded that day.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
