Happy Monday everyone!
I do love Mondays. Well, the opponents in the division championship game are set. I know how it’s going to end........this sucks. It’s going to be a long off-season. We’ll all suffer together.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Kentrell Brothers was recognized for his special teams play.
Adrian Peterson helped a stranded motorist in Houston.
The Bills hired our old pal, Leslie Frazier, to be their new defensive coordinator. I wish the best for Frazier, he seems like a good man & I hope he does well there (as long as they aren’t playing us, of course).
Coach Zimmer said there is ‘no timetable’ for Bridgewater’s return.
Vikings news from other sources:
1500ESPN posted part 6 of their “The Future of the Vikings” series, and they look at the linebackers.
Captain Munnerly sounds like he may want to stick around, according to ESPN. He also sounds like he realizes it may not happen. I like this quote from him
“This organization, we didn’t finish like we wanted to, but it’s definitely a great team that’s on the up-and-coming with great guys, a great organization, a great head coach.”
From Vikings.com:
Wobby opens the Monday Morning Mailbag, and looks at whether the Bradford trade was worth it.
You can vote now for the Vikings special teams play of the year.
Eric Smith looks back on the season, and especially the year Kyle Rudolph put together.
Here’s a nice highlight reel of our sacks in 2016.
Around the rest of the NFL:
From PFT, the judge is waiting to see what Adam Jones’ punishment will be from the NFL before proceeding.
Other sports news of note:
The Wild, on the road to the Stanley Cup, won their eighth in a row last night, as they rallied from 2 back, and beat the Blackhawks, 3-2.
Meanwhile, the Avalanche lost their 10th out of their last 12, as McLeod, who was traded by the Avalanche one day earlier, scored the winning goal to help the Predators defeat the Avlananche, 3-2.
We come to today’s media selection.
This guy is friggin hilarious.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
